The Moon Tree 

Yes, you read that right.  You’ve probably walked right past the moon tree and never even noticed it.  It’s the giant Douglas-Firm between the EMU and Carson, and across the street from Willamette Hall. 

 

In 1971, the seed of this tree was carried to the moon by Stuart Roosa on Apollo XIV.  Originally planted where Willamette Hall now stands, it was transplanted in 1978.
